Title: Senior Paralegal
Reports to: General Counsel
FLSA Status:   Full-time/non-exempt

The role:
Working independently under the guidance of the General Counsel, you’ll support Charter School Capital’s Legal Team and provide invaluable backing on a variety of legal matters, with a particular focus on all stages of the pre- and post-closing process for commercial real estate transactions, as well as lending and finance experience.

Reviewing, analyzing, and preparing initial drafts of legal documents and managing the closing of transactions will be the primary responsibilities of your role. You’ll maintain corporate law subject matter expertise and support all aspects of corporate governance for the company and its subsidiaries. Also, you will create and maintain systems to ensure timely legal, contractual and regulatory compliance and reporting. Plus, you’ll create and maintain systems for the administration of the legal department, including recordkeeping, deadline management, budget oversight and you will liaise with outside counsel and vendors. Other duties will be assigned to you as needed for the department and the company. Additionally, there are no billable hour requirements.

What we are looking for:
You’ll have experience in supporting the day-to-day needs of a busy legal department. You will have proven success in implementing and maintaining systems for efficient and effective legal administration. You will be able to demonstrate positive achievements in assisting lawyers in all stages of commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing. You’ll have experience with loan agreements and lender compliance. You’ll be a quick learner – resourceful with an excellent work ethic. You’ll possess strong analytical, research and drafting skills.

Your organizational skills are superior, and you have the ability to prioritize and independently manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with minimal daily-supervision. You will offer a high-level of professionalism and confidence in all aspects of work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Familiarity with Salesforce and experience working in a Macintosh environment are highly preferred. Additionally, you will have a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 10+ years of relevant experience in a transactional paralegal position with a national company or firm, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
