School buildings are environments that when designed properly, can positively affect student health and enable students to grow and thrive. This program allows charter schools to access energy efficient and renewable energy solutions for their buildings—improving the learning environment while reducing utility and maintenance expenses through, for example, improved lighting, solar window film, HVAC and thermostat upgrades and building controls.
Lighting, controls, HVAC, roofing, ducting, window film and solar, and other renovation projects.

A utility-grade audit allows Charter School Energy to develop a comprehensive energy-upgrade solution proposal. If you choose to move forward with the program, Charter School Energy will apply the money paid for the utility- grade audit towards any energy upgrade project with Charter School Energy. If you choose to not move forward with the upgrade project, then you are free to take the audit and use it in the future to evaluate any other energy efficiency projects.
The cost for your audit will vary based on your school’s size, but you can expect that it will be approximately:
No, Charter School Energy is happy to evaluate projects for schools of any size.
We are happy to talk with you about the program and discuss potential savings. Once we’ve had a discussion, then we can provide you with a quote for a utility grade energy audit. (The out of pocket cost is minimal compared to the total savings provided by the upgrade program)
Energy bills provide additional detail that the total cost alone will not provide. For that reason, Charter School Energy requires that schools send copies of their actual monthly energy bills.
